Numb As The Winter Lyrics
hail to the sun living in the sky
hail to the stars, they give us light
we live in a house overrun with vine
it's more like a hell, but we feel fine.
pool like a pond, as black as night
black beetles swimming all in time
dark legs pull, they're in the mud
they move like a river
creeping in, the darkest fire
fists are clenched but one will find
we live with the devil but we feel fine
it's more like a hell here but we'll be, fine.
animal eyes with pupils wide
we watched their legs moving in vain
they've lost their wings they cannot run they cannot hide they cannot, hide.
no one escapes here from the vines
it's more like a hell here but we feel fine
one day you'll get used to the mud in your lungs in your veins in your eyes, and you'll feel fine.
numb as the winter
numb as the winter
numb as the winter
numb as the winter

it took me a while to coin one of the lyrics on here, the fifth line to be specific. but i finally was able to put it all together after reading this interview of hers. she says some things in the song that are quite similar to the lyrics. she must have been writing from experience.
