I think the song is about going back to school and the experiences involved in going back to school and depression from being alone "Fall comes a loaded gun" the school starts in fall and it being a bad thing like a loaded gun; I could probably explain that better but yeah. "Black ties for everyone" Everyone dressing nice for school "Can you read my mind" I always think during this part hes talking about some girl he might not have seen over the summer "Fall in my arms again" Maybe he had a chance with this girl but he missed his chance and now he wants to try again this new year. "gray stones that break apart" Old bonds that he is losing in the new year "French braids demonic art" being a friend with a girl he likes and hating doing french braids the dead come alive" Old grudges coming alive again "What do you fear my love hold on your breaking up" him whussing out on talking to a girl Thats mostly about school. It gets into depression in the next verse. "full moon on a rotten night, eighteen and a wind came by not a soul around" "thats him talking about how he spends most of his time alone when he wants to be around people. Some people believe that a full moon symbolizes something big is gonna happen like a first kiss or something worse. When nothing happens he feels empty and depressed. "i'm scared of the dark my friends" Oh gee this is the big indicator of depression. The dark is really sad for someone whos depressed, being alone in the dark just gives you this feeling like at the end of we are the champions where you expect to hear that "of the world" but there is no of the world and you feel empty. He feels this and sad. He says this to his friends without them realizing that hes not scared of monsters but hes scared of being alone and leaving his sad thoughts to himself. "what do you fear my love you soul it will float like a dove you words they will scream loud enough you lips they will studder and quaver you cant shake the taste of the blood hold on your breaking up" I think scoobs is right. He has nightmares.

But anyway, I think this song has alot do with death and accepting the death of something or a situation. In the chorus Tom is trying to comfort the person with the first few lines then saying you can't shake the taste of death and it's bound to happen. You cannot escape it no matter what. This song is actually the darkest on the EP but you won't figure it out until you listen to it a few times.

Fairly sure this songs actually about dreaming and nightmares, or at least that's my interpretation of what he's talking about.

Your words they won't scream loud enough... like when you're running scared in a nightmare and you just can't seem to run fast enough to get away or scream for help for some reason. Rest of song is describing a bunch of nightmarish scenarios

I am just in the process of making a "Disaster" Tshirt and I wanted to check the lyrics.\n\n"Dogs Eating Dogs" is the only Blink CD that I don\'t have, so I can\'t see if there are lyrics in the sleeve notes.\n\nI always heard it as.. .. "I\'m Scared Of The Dark My Friends".\n\nBut I checked Google and to my horror, some sites have the lyrics as "ARE YOU scared of the dark my friends"\nas opposed to "I\'M scared of the dark my friends".\n\nI listened back and it could be either. \n\nWhich is it? \n\nCan anyone check the CD notes please. It\'s only available on mp3/aac so I can\'t go out and buy it.\n\nAnd now I can only hear "ARE YOU...."\n\n\nAlso This song deserves more than 5 comments. What\'s the matter with you all?
