To me, Forgotten People is about ordinary people, people who wont be remembered in the history books, and will more than likely be forgotten a few decades after they die. It talks about flying, and the dreams of those people, then the dark future that awaits them and all of us. In the end, we have each other, and the singer says "I'll shine over you, You'll shine over me", we will "shine over" each other, making our lives mean something to other people, and make them happy together, and get through it together.
