Even If We Try Lyrics

Even if we try
Even if we try
To make ourselves alright
To mend our severed lives
While all the rivers rage,
Descend upon this age
Running melodies
I lift my voice to sing
Ooh

Holding to the past
Clouding in my glass
Lever on my youth
Remember what is true
As we watch the colors
Fleeting with the call of
Laces set on fire
Truth found in the mire.
Ooh

Stumbling down the hillside
In the waning moon light
Hear me, calling
And wailing on the doldrums
Rid ourselves of lonesome nights,
Passed over

Down long hollow road
It's wilted, winding bones
Come on, Johnny, please, won't you speak to me?
Ooh

Uuuuuhu uuuuhu uuuhuu uuuuhuuu
Uuuuuhu uuuuhu uuuhuu uuuuhuuu
Uuuuuhu uuuuhu uuuhuu uuuuhuuu

just some thoughts... :)

it sounds a bit like "descend upon this age" rather than "stage"... and I can't make out that next line, but I can't heat "running melodies" no matter how I try...

I think it's "hear me, calling" instead of "give me, calling"… and maybe "made ourselves our lonesome nights" (not sure though)

I don't think it's "down on call we'll grow" … I'm not certain, but could be something more like "down long hollow road…"? and the next line is "it's wilted, winding bones"

I think you were right about a lot of those. Edited the lyrics. Thanks!

My gosh, this is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It's life, that's what it's about. Life-- trying and trying and failing and almost losing hope, but accepting that.
