It's not quite the typical girl songs you hear on the radio, this one is about a guy who's had some kind of trouble with a past girlfriend who he seemingly invested a lot of himself into but then she took him for granted or something, and now the girl person's trying to mend him and by the sounds of it, coax him into a relationship with her, with what appears to be a promise to be there, that she won't do what the previous girl had done to him.
It's the same concept as any other love song in the way of 'that person hurt you, don't worry, I won't do that to you and you can trust me'. The point where it deviates from the bulk of the category is that it's a girl song. It's very different song content to what other girl singers might have.
I think this song is about trying to make the boy she loves believe in falling in love again. He doesn't believe in love cause the girl he loved broke him and through his heart away, he didn't see what she was going to him cause his "eyes weren't open". And then the new girl is trying the help him like She's trying to help him trust and just be faithful in love.
