Pretty self explanatory lyrics. Its sad that a lot of times its only when we lose something that means so much to us, that we recognize our foolish ways. I relate to this song immensely, my ex broke up with me 4 years ago coming this March, and its only cause of how I treated her. This song consoles me and i still believe one day she might give me another chance, after i learn and grow from my mistakes.

It's interesting that, rather than wanting revenge, Bruno wants the best for the girl who left him. Even though she's gone, he still loves her, enough to want her to be with somebody who will treat her well.
Bruno sings this brilliantly, it is a lovely song about a man realizing what an idiot he has been for losing an amazing girl. It reminds me of 'You were always on my mind' by Willie Nelson bt made famous by Elvis.
