Release The Panic Lyrics
I don't mean to, to alarm you
Can't you see now, it overtakes you
You're declining, disintegrating
You're gonna lose it all
This time you're wasting
Breathe in, breathe out
Breathe in, breathe out
Breathe in, breathe out
Blackout, let your panic out
Let it out, let it out
Release the panic
Oh, release the panic
Get it out, get it out, get it out
Release the panic
Oh, release the panic
'Cause you're trapped in the countdown
And your days are numbered
Don't you know that you're done for
Right now, lights out
Let your panic out
You can feel it, but you're ignoring
It creeps upon you, without a warning
You think you're thriving
But you're decaying
You're gonna lose it all
There's no escaping
Let it out, let it out
Release the panic
Oh, release the panic
Get it out, get it out, get it out
Release the panic
Oh, release the panic
'Cause you're trapped in the countdown
And your days are numbered
Don't you know that you're done for
Right now, lights out
Let your panic out
Feel it slip away, slip away
You know you're done for
You're done
You can't get away, get away
You know you're done for
You're done
Let it out, let it out
Release the panic
Oh, release the panic
Get it out, get it out, get it out
Release the panic
Oh, release the panic
Let it out, let it out
Release the panic
Oh, release the panic
Get it out, get it out, get it out
Release the panic
Oh, release the panic
Can't you see now, it overtakes you
You're declining, disintegrating
You're gonna lose it all
This time you're wasting
Breathe in, breathe out
Breathe in, breathe out
Blackout, let your panic out
Release the panic
Oh, release the panic
Get it out, get it out, get it out
Release the panic
Oh, release the panic
And your days are numbered
Don't you know that you're done for
Right now, lights out
Let your panic out
It creeps upon you, without a warning
You think you're thriving
But you're decaying
You're gonna lose it all
There's no escaping
Release the panic
Oh, release the panic
Get it out, get it out, get it out
Release the panic
Oh, release the panic
And your days are numbered
Don't you know that you're done for
Right now, lights out
Let your panic out
You know you're done for
You're done
You can't get away, get away
You know you're done for
You're done
Release the panic
Oh, release the panic
Get it out, get it out, get it out
Release the panic
Oh, release the panic
Release the panic
Oh, release the panic
Get it out, get it out, get it out
Release the panic
Oh, release the panic

To fully understand this song, you have to listen to the full album. All of Red's albums seem to have the barest hint of a storyline, which I absolutely adore. For me, this song is a call to wake up from complacency, but the call came too late, because we're already "trapped in the countdown". This countdown is our own lives; we're running out of time every day. Is there a way to stop this? We're only here for a short amount of time, so, somebody's gotta do something about this problem soon. When we realize that there is no stopping time, panic and chaos unfolds.
So many of Red's songs have double meanings ("Already Over," "Fight Inside/Nothing and Everything") and this is another great example. "Release the Panic" can mean to let it out, or express your panic, or it can mean to let go of, or get rid of your panic.
Our days are numbered and we all inching closer to death. That may be a reason to "panic," but if you have a personal relationship with God, then there is no need to panic, You are destined for a better place. God gives us release from our panic.
Not too sure what this song is about. Can someone fill me in?
