Guys i hate to break it to you but this song is about sex. : / in the summer of 09' Liam Payne lost his virginity therefore the lyrics "do you remember summor 09' " are true. This song is talking about how a girl and a boy were on a date and the girl wanted to have sex with the boy. "Rock me" was used instead of "Fuck me" because the public wouldn't like to use those terms...like in the song Whistle......they don't say cock the say whistle...this is the same reason y in this song. So if you are a fan and u are saying that it isn't about sex...i'm a fan to and i do my reasearch.

I've always thought it was partially about sex, and partially about music. It's basically comparing the two. "Hit the pedal, heavy metal" is basically saying I'm turned on, let's have sex, but using a musical metaphor.
I think it's about how love changes people, the part 'rock me', to me, means change me and make me a better person! I don't finf anything about sex in it actually!!!!!
This song is about taking two really good rock songs, squeezing every ounce of originality out of them, mushing them together and passing it off as your own. I'm all for tributes and what not but not when your dealing with a generation who don't even recognise the we will rock you beat. And summer '09 ? Oh what when you were 15? Since One Direction is a boy band, they couldn't say "fuck" to avoid offending their fan base, so they said "rock" instead to keep the innocent image they're supposed to have as a teenybopper boy band.
