Loc-Nar Lyrics
miles and miles above the surface
the alarm begins to wail
trajectory in error
vital systems all have failed
across the ocean the shadow races
quicker still across countryside
astonished millions stand in silence
and point their fingers to the sky
never to return to the sky
in the wreck the few survivors
whisper scripture together in the rain
searching madly for the jewel
their search is for not
their search is in vain
loc-nar is lost to us
this is all that survives we are damned
to serve one purpose here
to raise our graves to the sky
possessor and possessed
a traveler lost and alone
shelter in rock from a sudden storm
in the dark soft green glow
step by step obsession grows
and he holds the jewel to the sky
the alarm begins to wail
trajectory in error
vital systems all have failed
across the ocean the shadow races
quicker still across countryside
astonished millions stand in silence
and point their fingers to the sky
never to return to the sky
in the wreck the few survivors
whisper scripture together in the rain
searching madly for the jewel
their search is for not
their search is in vain
loc-nar is lost to us
this is all that survives we are damned
to serve one purpose here
to raise our graves to the sky
possessor and possessed
a traveler lost and alone
shelter in rock from a sudden storm
in the dark soft green glow
step by step obsession grows
and he holds the jewel to the sky

This is a reference to the glowing, mysterious orb from the 70's cartoon/movie Heavy Metal. The Loc Nar gives it's possessor ultimate powers, but also has a sinister quality to it, kind of like the One Ring from LOTR. I feel like Neil Fallon wrote the lyrics to this song while getting stoned and watching the movie. Since it is written in such a vague way, it's meaning can be extrapolated for all of our reality. Kind of like - "our possessions ultimately possess us".
