Lazy Bones Lyrics

I’m too tired to be bored
I’m too bored to be tired
And the silence is so deafening
it’s like picking at a sore
I’m too mental to go crazy
I’m too drunk too be pure
And my mind is playing tricks on me
And I can’t sleep tonight ’cause I’m so tired,

I can’t take it anymore
With all the liars
Like a prisoner of war
I don’t want your sympathy
I don’t want your honesty
I just want to get some peace of mind
It’s only in my head
As I roll over and play dead
I don’t want to hear it anymore

It’s good to see you but I really must admit
There’s an odor in the air and I think you look like [shit?]

Such a great song. The lyrics really seem to reflect what Billie is going through lately though. Everything here points to the eventual break down he had on stage at that festival appearance. It's some of the darkest, deepest lyrics he's ever written, dressed up with quite a catchy melody, complete with hand-claps. Some of Billie's best work has come from a really deep place in his heart, and this is definitely one of those. Again, a great song, but a little alarming when you read the lyrics while thinking of what happened a few months back.

I personally think this song is about Billie Joe's demons he has had as of late

Okay so the song is awesome but kinda sad bc Billie is talking about himself the whole time. He's saying how he's all messed up and drunk and stuff but then he's got this killer hangover. But to get rid of his hangover he just wants to drink more. As his drinks even more he kinda notices it's just the same thing over and over again. The he doesn't want people telling him to stop or anything, but on the inside he really does want to stop. He doesn't want people to feel bad for him bc he doesn't want to put an inconvenience on them. Then he says "It’s good to see you but I really must admit There’s an odor in the air and I think you look like shit I can’t stand from falling down. I’m too sick to throw up. Everyone keeps talking and they can’t shut the fuck up" and I've realized, when he says "you" he is talkingn about HIMSELF. He's looking in the mirror and seeing that he looks like crap when he's sober or drunk and he knows he needs help but he just wants people to shut up about him. BUT HES TOO "LAZY" TO GET HELP. Then he repeats the chorus and it's just how he wants people to leave him alone about it, because he wants to drink and get messed up to hide his pain, but he also wants to help himself because he knows it's destroying him. Anyway, that's my interpretation of the song.
