There's a guy who is in a relationship but he's trying to flirt with Taylor... and she's not going to let him do that with her because she knows he has a girlfriend. She was once in this girl's position - a guy cheated on her with another girl - and she doesn't want to be the girl he cheats with.

"I see you turn off your phone" -- this is a pretty acute observation hidden in a throwaway detail that has the ring of truth to it. The guy probably wants to be able to pretend to his girlfriend that his phone died.
My favorite thing about this song is the character development-she's not trying to get a boy to dump his girlfriend for her, she's telling him to back off and that's just so cool to me
