Gravy Train Lyrics

When you were young you were such a ripe tomato,
You'd spend all afternoon peeling my potato,
We'd drive forever in each other's sweet aroma,
We sleep together in each other's food coma,

But I can't take another bite this has got to stop tonight (stop tonight),
I can't take another bite this has got to stop tonight (stop tonight),
I can't take another bite this has got to stop tonight (stop tonight),
You might find it strange when I eat away the pain,
The wheels and the chains are coming off on gravy train tonight,
Tonight (ooooooh),

There's nothing left except the crums if you feed her right,
You ate it all 'cause it was all you could eat at night,
You're checking in to see how everything's tasting,
I like it better except for all the time we're wasting,
My mouth is dry, your mouth is waterin',
The most tender meat is bread for the slaughtering,
The slaughtering,

But I can't take another bite this has got to stop tonight (stop tonight),
I can't take another bite this has got to stop tonight (stop tonight),
I can't take another bite this has got to stop tonight (stop tonight),
You might find it strange when I eat away the pain,
The wheels and the chains are coming off on gravy train tonight,
Tonight (oooooh),

White flags when the war gets waged,
Because there is no winner only lunch and dinner,
In my place every meals a stage,
Though I decorate sparsely nobody eats parsley,
I'm turning my tables on you,

Cover art for Gravy Train lyrics by Evil Cowards

"Track 10 on Moving Through Security is "Gravy Train". Nothing says how good this album is than "Gravy Train" being at number 10 in the tracklisting. This was supposed to be "that song". For two years, we were like "Dude...Gravy Train!" And then newer and better songs came along. Different interpretations and biorhythms emerged. Mercury went into retrograde. "Gravy Train" may have conceded it's top-dog status, but it's still catchy as all hell. A song about gluttony and sexual confusion, its no wonder the folks at Lysol decided to use it in a recent advert."
