I Would Die For You Lyrics
He buried her heart still
He buried her on her own
By the cool ferns
In a rained on river bed
He took her in his arms
He carried her ghost
Through gray stone fields
He could feel her float
She said I, I would die for you
And I, I would die for you
And it all came true
Yeah, it all came true
A love so dark
Against the moon
A silken cord
She spoke too soon
She said I, I would die for you
And I, I would die for you
When he first laid eyes on her
It was like a curse
He felt his heart rise
And gravity in reverse
Her eyes full of hope
Her voice full of mourning
Her lips as red
As a shepard's warning
She said I, I would die for you
And I, I would die for you
And it all came true
Yeah, it all came true
He lay her down
In the gentle earth
And kissed her eyes closed
Like it didn't hurt
He whispered
I, I would die for you
And I, I would die for you
And I, I would die for you
And I, I would die for you
I, I would die for you . . .
And it all came true
Yeah, it all came true
He buried her on her own
By the cool ferns
In a rained on river bed
He carried her ghost
Through gray stone fields
He could feel her float
And I, I would die for you
And it all came true
Yeah, it all came true
Against the moon
A silken cord
She spoke too soon
And I, I would die for you
It was like a curse
He felt his heart rise
And gravity in reverse
Her voice full of mourning
Her lips as red
As a shepard's warning
And I, I would die for you
And it all came true
Yeah, it all came true
In the gentle earth
And kissed her eyes closed
Like it didn't hurt
I, I would die for you
And I, I would die for you
And I, I would die for you
And I, I would die for you
I, I would die for you . . .
Yeah, it all came true

Matt Walters did such a fantastic job with this song. I've never heard such a haunting song that would make me only want to love someone even more, until I heard this.
"He took her in his arms He carried her ghost Through grey stone fields He could feel her float."
These lines are the most powerful I've ever seen in a song, they describe the most beautiful moments of life, when one's soul finally departs from the physical body, but the narrator has loved this woman with such a fiery passion, that he can feel her soul leaving to find shelter above. I wish I could cry, because I would damn sure cry over this song. Well done, Matt.
This is heart wrenching.
I agree. I cried just reading the lyrics; they are beautiful.
