RU486 Lyrics

(This record is an unseen enemy of the human mind)
(You are going to relax)
(Use it regularly, Train your mind to follow the suggestions to an unpleasant degree)
(You are going to relax)
(The mind needs nervous tension. And now we shall begin)
(Listen only to my voice)
(One word of caution)
(RU486)

The pity turns complacent
The bitter comes in a rush
Nobody needs a hopeless romantic
Who never sleeps and drinks too much
The fear is unrepentant
That means there's nowhere to hide
So draw a breath, and kill my Judas
You'll never know until you come inside

You are defeatist
Forsaken
A jewel in the crown of the sun
Never repeated, or taken
I wouldn't change a fucking thing that you've done

(Going Down Alive)
(Going Down Alive)
Assume your nemesis!
(Going Down Alive)
(Going Down Alive)
Are you for 86?

Another weak contender
Another pound of the nails
The future lies in perfect condition
You can do it if you're built to fail
I only know solutions
I've never thought of the end
Someone else is closing the casket
Another hungry mouth to defend

You are defeated
Forbidden
A name at the top of the list
Never related, or stricken
I wouldn't change a fucking thing about this

(Going Down Alive)
(Going Down Alive)
Assume your nemesis!
(Going Down Alive)
(Going Down Alive)
Are you 486?

(YOU!)
Projector
(WON'T!)
Suspector
(FEEL!)
The victor is only who is left insane
(YOU!)
Contractor
(DON'T!)
Detractor
(SEE!)
The answer is screaming what you'll never say

We are demeaning
Forever
A world that will never exist
Always repeating, or severed
We wouldn't change a fucking thing about this

(Going Down Alive)
(Going Down Alive)
Assume your nemesis!
(Going Down Alive)
(Going Down Alive)
R U 486?

(Going Down Alive)
(Going Down Alive)
Assume your nemesis!
(Going Down Alive)
(Going Down Alive)
RU486?!

It's not exactly about abortion, he's simply using it for a metaphor of killing something you created. Since the album story is about a musician and all the various tribulations associated with it, being about an abortion doesn't really fit in. In this part it seems like the success is burdening him so he needs to kill or abort the life he has created for himself.

good call.

I agree its not about abortion but a agree with you

@satanaesinagoga but doesnt he know you cannot kill what you did not create? ;)

duality reference

Since this album at its core is about bettering yourself, I think this song may be about Corey dealing with is recent changes (sobriety and such) and how it changes his music. Since he was in a dark place a few years ago it was easy to write about it, but now that he's changed his life its also changed his music and certain "fans" can't accept it. If I understand it correctly this is the part of the story where you meet "the numbers" (I have the digital version so I don't have the short story) I think they represent those people. 'YOU! DON'T! SEE! The answer is screaming what you'd never say" Basically, his music has gotten more honest but some fans can't accept it. That's just my two cents, It's really hard try to figure out the story behind the songs without the booklet, since there's a lot behind them beside the literal meaning.

the lyrics are wrong, he is saying "The Fear is unrepentant, THAT MEANS there's nowhere to hide, not "their face has nowhere to hide"

and the second screamed "DON'T!" is followed by "Subtractor" not "Detractor"

In my opinion, Corey wrote this song through the eyes of a drug addict's child, directly addressing his parent that is the addict. "The pity turns complacent....You are defeatist,.... I wouldn't change a fucking thing that you've done" is meaning the parent accepts failure and is complacent with being a terrible parent, and the child wouldn't change it if he could. Later into the song, the plot turns and the child becomes a drug addict "we are demeaning forever, a world that will never exist, always repeating.....we wouldn't change a fucking thing about this," meaning the cycle continues, as the narrator (the child) has his own children and fails them just like his parent did him.
