Tired Lyrics
[Verse 1]
I'm alive in here, so alive in here
Pulling down a little peace
I'm open wide in here, slow to rise in here
Saving grace and killing me
You say this only makes me incomplete
I'm canceled out and rendered obsolete
Tell the mad chameleon he's not welcome anymore
I know what I'm looking for...
[Chorus 1]
Somewhere close, somewhere safe
Somewhere I know—I know I'll never live in chains
The one is now aware
So stay away from me—I'm just too young to care
[Verse 2]
I can see in here; I can feel in here
Comatose with common sense
I take my time in here; somebody get me out of here
What am I so against?
I just want to watch the whole world burn
Lost a million times and I won't learn
Show me someone innocent, I'll show you there's no proof
I may be gone, but I'm no fool...
[Chorus 2]
I'm not close; I'm not safe
I don't know—don't know—am I better off in chains?
The one is not aware
So stay away from me—I'm just too young to care
[Outro/Chorus]
I need somewhere close, somewhere safe
Somewhere I know—I know I'll never live in chains
The one is now aware
So stay away from me—I'm just too young to care
Too young to care
I'm alive in here, so alive in here
Pulling down a little peace

This is such a great song! Why aren't there any comments?
This song seems to me that he's tired of being "good" and decided he just doesn't care. he's gonna drink, and he's gonna smoke and there's nobody left to change his mind
wondering who the "Mad Chameleon" is .
in the "Live" versione Corey's voice seems to come from the bottom of his soul. watch the acoustic version played in London .
@alef44 the person speaking that line is probably referring to themselves.

This is probably projection on my part, but I myself feel like a chameleon more often than not. I blend in to situations. It takes a toll on one's personality and soul. So if I were to say, tell the mad chameleon he's not welcome anymore, I would be saying I want that part of me out of my life, that I don't have to be a chameleon, and that I am reasserting my real personality.

The later lines of, I know what I'm looking for, and the one is now aware, back up this point if you think about it.
"Tired is about a recrimination of the older ways. This song shows that the internal war is costly and draining, threatening to destroy the resolve of The Human to be better at life." -Cory Taylor via Stone Sour's Facebook page on December 30th, 2014.
