Weather In My Head Lyrics
The air is boiling
Sun on my back
Inside I'm frozen girl
I'm about to crack
[repeat the following lyrics]
They may fix
The weather in the world
Just like Mr. Gore said
But tell me what's to be done
Lord - 'bout the weather in my head
[end repeat]
Girl when you hurt me
When you told those lies
It's like a typhoon exploded
Behind my eyes
[repeated lyrics above]
Here comes my own Katrina
The levee comes apart
There's an ocean of misery
Floodin' my heart
[repeated lyrics above]
[lead guitar]
Seaquake by morning
Says QUAKE-TV
Rogue wave comes high
And it breaks all over me
[repeated lyrics above]
Four old hippies
Drivin' in the rain
I asked for a lift -
They said: Get used to the pain
They gonna fix
The weather in the world
Just like Mr. Gore said
But tell me what's to be done
Lord - 'bout the weather in my head
But tell me what's to be done
Lord - 'bout the weather in my head
[lead guitar]
Sun on my back
Inside I'm frozen girl
I'm about to crack
[repeat the following lyrics]
They may fix
The weather in the world
Just like Mr. Gore said
But tell me what's to be done
Lord - 'bout the weather in my head
[end repeat]
When you told those lies
It's like a typhoon exploded
Behind my eyes
[repeated lyrics above]
The levee comes apart
There's an ocean of misery
Floodin' my heart
[repeated lyrics above]
Says QUAKE-TV
Rogue wave comes high
And it breaks all over me
[repeated lyrics above]
Drivin' in the rain
I asked for a lift -
They said: Get used to the pain
They gonna fix
The weather in the world

This is a typically clever song comparing the external climate change with the internal depression - weather in my head. It is a 12-bar blues with lots of choruses on lead guitar by Jon Herington. Fagen makes it topical by references to Katrina and Al Gore. I don't know who the four old hippies are unless they represent the generation that screwed the weather in the world which is going to sink some condominiums.
I suddenly thought that the four old hippies could be the Four Horsemen of the Apocolypse. They were supposed to be around for a global disaster, like climate change, weren't they?
I thought he was saying, "They may fix the weather in the world / Just like mystical sex." lol
