Bridge Burn Lyrics
The shore, the shore, it is a metaphor
for every moment that has ever passed between them
the way, the rays, repeat upon her face
It’s their monotony, she says, â€We need to bridge burn…â€
We need to bridge burn
We need to bridge burn
We need to bridge burn
We need to bridge burn
Shukran! Shukran!, he whispers to her hands,
and sees his future in the beach outstretched before them
the way, the waves, wash empty words away
is opportunity, he nods, â€We need to bridge burn…â€
We need to bridge burn
We need to bridge burn
We need to bridge burn
We need to bridge burn
But I could tell you that it means so much
to look in your eyes, to look in your eyes
and I could tell you that it‘s not a crutch
to look in your eyes, to look in your eyes
We need to bridge burn, bridge burn
So now her heart, a mirror from the start
evacuates the empty space that grew between them
he holds, her near, the sun a souvenir
a final time to reminisce before they bridge burn
We need to bridge burn
We need to bridge burn
We need to bridge burn
We need to bridge burn
We need to bridge burn, bridge burn
for every moment that has ever passed between them
the way, the rays, repeat upon her face
It’s their monotony, she says, â€We need to bridge burn…â€
We need to bridge burn
We need to bridge burn
We need to bridge burn
and sees his future in the beach outstretched before them
the way, the waves, wash empty words away
is opportunity, he nods, â€We need to bridge burn…â€
We need to bridge burn
We need to bridge burn
We need to bridge burn
to look in your eyes, to look in your eyes
and I could tell you that it‘s not a crutch
to look in your eyes, to look in your eyes
evacuates the empty space that grew between them
he holds, her near, the sun a souvenir
a final time to reminisce before they bridge burn
We need to bridge burn
We need to bridge burn
We need to bridge burn

This one's a little tricky for the exact meaning, because this band is so wonderfully symbolic. I feel though, that it's a couple (my interpretation is opposite-gendered friends, the guy is in love with her, and she does not return those feelings in that way) who are parting, for one reason or another, on good terms. I think it sort of feels like she is moving on with her life, and he accepts it, and wants her to be happy, and "burn the bridge" that is their relationship so she can move on, but he keeps imagining things, like a beach house for them, and how great it would be. She really does love him, and he will always be there for her, but she doesn't accept it yet, and may or may not realize later on in life that he was the one who would do anything for her.
