Sleep Thru Monday

When your friends going out remember to call you
and the ones that you miss are happy to see you too.
When you've got a job that doesn't suck the life out of you.
When you find a new song that you truly adore
and they play it on the radio and it isn't obscure.
When you don't feel like you don't know how to love anymore
and like a car commercial you stare out the window at the sun.
And I can't say I really deserved a break today
But I don't care, I'm gonna enjoy it anyway
Let's stay awake and sleep through Monday.
When they take you home drunk and they don't give a shit
Because they're genuinely excited that it's a good trip.
When the tracks you love are not the ones that everyone skips
and like a car commercial you stare out the window at the sun.
Why should we feel guilty?
Good times don't hurt anyone and ours seem so few and far between.
I don't feel sorry!
And I can't say I really deserved a break today
But I don't care, I'm gonna enjoy it anyway

There's a beautiful couple across from me and I can't quite tell if everything's breaking.
A picnic basket and a blackberry leaned on the handle, light barely flashing
and though it's such a gorgeous day, nobody's smiling. Everyone's tired.
Here's to hoping that ain't us and nobody's quite sure if we're breaking up.
I hope we're not breaking up.
