My Love Won't Wait Lyrics
You can try but ain't no use, i'll lose it if you cut me loose
You can try but ain't no use, i'll lose it if you cut me loose
Darlin' please don't hesitate
Can I get you now or must i wait
I can feel my patience running thin
I stare the wall, walk the floor
But somehow end up at your door
And you refuse to let me in
But something ain't quite right with me
I can't seem to let you be
My love won't wait
Come out when you're most alone
My coat pockets full of stones
Hurl at your window to help you sleep
You're gonna let me hang around
And i'm gonna tear your playhouse down
Run to the river frigidly
'Cause something ain't quite right with me
I can't seem to let you be
My love won't wait
Don't you fret and don't you fear
While I whisper in your ear
There's no escape
'Cause something ain't quite right with me
I can't seem to let you be
My love won't wait
So don't you fret and don't you fear
While i whisper in your ear
There's no escape
You can try but ain't no use, i'll lose it if you cut me loose
You can try but ain't no use, i'll lose it if you cut me loose
You can try, you can try
You can try, you can try
You can try, you can try
You can try, you can try
You can try but ain't no use, i'll lose it if you cut me loose
Can I get you now or must i wait
I can feel my patience running thin
I stare the wall, walk the floor
But somehow end up at your door
And you refuse to let me in
I can't seem to let you be
My love won't wait
My coat pockets full of stones
Hurl at your window to help you sleep
You're gonna let me hang around
And i'm gonna tear your playhouse down
Run to the river frigidly
I can't seem to let you be
My love won't wait
Don't you fret and don't you fear
While I whisper in your ear
There's no escape
I can't seem to let you be
My love won't wait
So don't you fret and don't you fear
While i whisper in your ear
There's no escape
You can try but ain't no use, i'll lose it if you cut me loose
You can try, you can try
You can try, you can try
You can try, you can try

I think it's
"Something ain't quite right with me", not "Something ain't quite right to me"
and
"I can't seem to let you be" rather than "I can't seem to let you leave"
and
"Come by when you're most alone" instead of "Come back when you're most alone"
and
"Or I'ma tear your play house down" instead of "But I'ma tear your plate ass down"
and
"Don't you fret, don't you fear" instead of "Don't you threat, don't you fear"
The way I interpret this song, is from the perspective of someone who refuses to realise a relationship is over, or that a person doesn't love them back. The narrator is obviously stalking and threatening the object of affection, standing outside his or her window, throwing stones when he/she is sleeping.
It's a creepy and fantastic song, and I love it!
"hurl at your window (while) you sleep"
"run to the river (bridge and leap)"
thanks!
thanks!
