I feel as though the meaning of this song is about the confusion that we're the center of everything and the delusion of a divine ruler caring only of us. If there really is a god-like figure out there, he's preoccupied with the other beings and the innumerable amount of stars, planets, and other galaxies that exist. We are not as special as we think. We should open our minds outwards - towards the stars. Origins. Stardust, our true holy father.
I don't think it necessarily means we aren't special. The fact that we are chance is special. The point is, we don't really know and have no way of ever knowing. But what does matter is right in front of you. Care for those who are here with you.
