Rudd is talking about not getting caught up with the societal structure of the day and all the day’s worries with that. When life seems like it’s getting crazy to embrace and rest in the rhythms of our environment, to embrace the constants of the water edge and its ebbing tide, the rise and fall of the moon. That chaos might be the present but just as the earth has rhythms so does life. There is a deep interconnectedness with us and the earth. We can find balance and peace in it.
