Tights in August Lyrics
My love's like a wounded knight, an heroic fight,
A little death for what is right.
And since I first saw your face I feel a tad unchaste,
I found a home in your embrace.
Your love's like your August tights,
It looks alright but it's impractical tonight.
Now and then you look kind of sweet,
But you're too much for me,
It's becoming quite obscene.
Oh I like the things you say
You like me anyway
But I feel something deep inside
I feel slightly petrified
I wanna see the end with you!
Can't you see my love is true?
Make me yours, baby!
Make me yours, baby!
I wanna get away from you!
I rue the day I made my move.
I thought I just said maybe,
Not forever more!
I said i don't believe in fate,
But now that's all changed!
You know I've never felt this way!
Sweetheart, you need to slow right down,
There's other boys in town,
I'm sure they'd let you bring them down.
I wanna get away from you!
I rue the day i made my move.
Give it up, baby!
Give it up, baby!
I wanna see the end with you!
Can't you see my love is true?
I wanna be your lady
Not your ticket home!
Good lord, you get out my way.
I'm sore in the sorest way.
You make money off my lemonade
You call it love and I'm so afraid!
I'm yours in the strangest way.
I'm yours and that's how it stays.
I make money off your lemonade!
I call it love and I'm not afraid!
A little death for what is right.
And since I first saw your face I feel a tad unchaste,
I found a home in your embrace.
It looks alright but it's impractical tonight.
Now and then you look kind of sweet,
But you're too much for me,

This song's pretty self evident - girl obsessed with boy who is rather less anamoured with her. The end is great because he seems to truly realise what he's got himself in for and it gets a bit darker. 'Making money off lemonade' seems to be her profiting from his artificial affection for her, she doesn't seem to notice (or care) that it's synthetic.
At the end they both sing together, perhaps she's worn him down and now he's the one who is obsessed and she's the one who's bored of the relationship. Or maybe it was just a nice way to end the song.
