I Want to Take You With Me Lyrics
I want to take you with me
Every fear starts as a teardrop. Â Â Â From a tear to torrent stream.
My love for you is my religion. Â Â Â Your happiness, my only creed.
I found comfort in the shadows. Â Â Â I was hiding from myself.
And when you listened to my story, Â Â The truth of it, I had to tell.
And I want to take you with me. Â To where the heart will know no fear.
I want to take you with me. Â Â Â Far away from here.
Was there ever, one so tender? Â Â Who draws a love from so much light.
And my own weakness does not offend her. Â My poor heart is her's by right.
And I want to take you with me. Â Â To where the heart will know no fear.
I want to take you with me. Â Â Â Far away from here.
She will bear his child in sorrow. Â Â And the children that we make.
But her heart I only borrow. Â Â Â 'Cause I'm not sure it's mine to take.
And I want to take you with me. Â To where the heart will know no fear.
I want to take you with me. Â Â Â Far away from here.
My love for you is my religion. Â Â Â Your happiness, my only creed.
I found comfort in the shadows. Â Â Â I was hiding from myself.
And when you listened to my story, Â Â The truth of it, I had to tell.
I want to take you with me. Â Â Â Far away from here.
And my own weakness does not offend her. Â My poor heart is her's by right.
I want to take you with me. Â Â Â Far away from here.
But her heart I only borrow. Â Â Â 'Cause I'm not sure it's mine to take.
I want to take you with me. Â Â Â Far away from here.

What a great song! Robin's guitar is so classically Trower-sounding here, and his leads, riffs, and solos are so heartfelt through the notes. This sound is obviously about a woman who was being abused by her then current boyfriend/mate, and the singer is observing it and falls in loe with her while it is happening. He eventually wins her over and continues to treat her well, it then wonders if she ever really loves him, and does she still love the one who abused her. Davey Pattison does a great job on the vocals of this song, very expressive.
