Paper Rose Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Glass ball, for your first born,
To see your road, so he don’t fall,
No.
White swan, a paper rose,
What you unfold, what you unfold.
Ooh
[verse 2]
Throwing stars, sharp as your tongue,
To cut your rope, and let you go.
Count your teeth, watching you speak,
Take what you’re owed, take what you’re owed.
Ooh
[Bridge]
We locked eyes, we locked eyes. (?)
[Chorus]
Why did you let me go?
There was hope in the hallelujahs.
There were notes in the begging bowl.
There was time but we never used it.
And it’s too late to be sorry,
And it’s too late to be bold,
And you’re there but it’s not your body,
And I tear like a paper rose.
Oh oh oh oooh ooh ooh ooooh oh oh ooooh ooh ooh
[Verse 3]
White balls, a paper rose.
I see your ghost, I see your bones, oh.
Wire frame; You keep your shape.
I move you slow, I move you slow.
[Bridge (Different lyrics, inaudible)]
[chorus]
Why did you let me go?
There was hope in the hallelujahs.
There were notes in the begging bowl.
There was time but we never used it.

I love this song, the drums and piano are unparalleled in terms of awesomeness. I feel like the chorus of this song sums up the meaning of the song pretty well. It is about the fragility of relationships. There was a moment of imbalance and it tore apart (like a paper rose.)
