You Will Become Lyrics
In time this won't even matter
This chapter will be long in the grass
We'll talk about everything till it's easier
Your beauty is nothing compared to what
You will become
You will become
You will become, in time become
We talked about talk of a gold ring
And you brought me one step closer to the heart of things
And we talked about everything till we laughed about it
Your honesty is nothing compared to what
You will become
You will become
You will become, in time become
You will become
You will become
You will become
You will become
You will become
You will become, in time become
This chapter will be long in the grass
We'll talk about everything till it's easier
Your beauty is nothing compared to what
You will become
You will become
You will become, in time become
And you brought me one step closer to the heart of things
And we talked about everything till we laughed about it
Your honesty is nothing compared to what
You will become
You will become
You will become, in time become
You will become
You will become
You will become
You will become
You will become, in time become

I read this is about Marketa and how he tells her she will grow up to be amazing artist. Beautiful song, perhaps my favourite from the album!
This song can be interpreted in a plethora of ways, and I don't want to negate anybody else's; but this is how I interpreted it:
The narrator is talking to his lover, whom he is about to depart with and break off his engagement to (hence the "talk about talk of a gold ring". He loves her, but for whatever reason, the relationship just couldn't work. So he wants her to know that despite their relationship's failure, he wants to thank her for helping him grow as a person (you brought me one step closer to the heart of things.) and to reassure her that he still thinks she's a wonderful person who will continue to grow and become even more beautiful (speaking in a broader, spiritual/ethical sense of beauty, not necessarily a physical one).
According to two interviews I've seen, it's about his brother, but I can't find out anything about him. In a CBS interview, he teared up while briefly mentioning his brother. It makes me appreciate this beautiful song all the more.
