Pretty Baby Lyrics

pretty baby, if you don't like the way that i touch you
then i won't touch you no more, yeah.
pretty baby, if you don't like the way that i love you
then throw my love on the floor.

my mean daddy,
my bad baby, don't you want me?
i don't believe you
when you say you want to leave.

darling honey, if you don't think that you're gonna want me
then honey, let me know.
listen honey, i don't wanna keep thinking you love me
just to find out you don't.

my mean daddy,
my bad baby, don't you want me?
i don't believe you
when you say you want to leave.

aren't you gonna miss me?
honey, i'll miss you
i just wanna kiss you
tonight.

pretty baby, if you don't like the way that i hold you
then honey, let me go.
pretty baby, if you don't like the way that i told you
then baby, tell me so.

my mean daddy,
my bad baby, don't you want me?
i don't believe you
when you say you want to leave.

Cover art for Pretty Baby lyrics by Lana Del Rey

As I noted in an earlier comment on mistitled "For K: Part 1" (which is actually "Sirens") there is no song entitled "Pretty Baby." It was some sort of fan error...understandable, of course, with our limited knowledge of Lana's "May Jailer" days. This song is actually called "For K: Part 1." There are echoes of it in the better known "For K: Part 2" in which Lana croons "Pretty baby..."

Chilling. Remind anyone of Cat Power's music?

A beautifully soft song. The chorus and the second verse lead me to think the singer is in a bit of denial about the relationship ending, that sentiment is further flushed out when she explains she doesn't want to believe they want to leave.

A fairly sad and lurching tune of unrequited love.

My Interpretation

This song definitely has a similar tone to "For K: Part 2," and both lyrics have the same seductive feeling.
