Conflict Lyrics

I had always fought never to give up,
and always tried hard not to be the same.
But then I decided to come to my senses,
Leaving me just myself to blame.

Sometimes I imagine clear blue water,
Laid upon a sunny sandy beach.
As long as I am nowhere near the city,
Close my eyes, and see how far I reach.

And I know this is just me being senseful,
It's good she never fell in love with me.

I'm told that I still have my options open,
And there are millions of fish out in the sea.
But I felt she was really someone special,
Someone no one else could ever be.
I hear the world's amazing to uncover,
But I don’t know if I'll like what I see.
So I better just let it go and give up,
Staying here is where I'm left to be.

Though I may never really feel it,
it's good she never fell in love with me.

I don't know if she's really perfect,
but my dreams I won't soon forget.
And even though it may be my dream come true,
it could also be a letdown I'd regret.

So it's probably best I lay back here and linger,
telling myself time and time again,
Stop trying to figure out what I couldn't see,
because it's good she never fell in love with me.
