Storm Corrosion Lyrics
Someone is calling her shorewards
Much likes horses
Raising dogs will sing to me
Hold back the tears in my comfort
We will forward in these pauses
The storm corrodes
Maps of a lift to the scaffold
On a nursery floor
Begs aloud not to stay
Cut from the stone in the quarry
This old friend of mine in his silence
The storm corrodes
Passed on the second hand slips outwards
Born in the curve the song drips endless
Thrown out the boy believes the secret
Grown up the dogs begin to reach it
Much likes horses
Raising dogs will sing to me
Hold back the tears in my comfort
We will forward in these pauses
The storm corrodes
On a nursery floor
Begs aloud not to stay
Cut from the stone in the quarry
This old friend of mine in his silence
The storm corrodes
Born in the curve the song drips endless
Thrown out the boy believes the secret
Grown up the dogs begin to reach it

This song is very aetherial, deep but gentle. It reminds me something inside of me, then it throws me outwards, and I can look at me, look at my imperfections, my degradations, and also it allows me to contemplate all around me, the spaces surrounding me and all its unwanted situations and moments.
This song is incredible.
I agree. That said, I'm not keen on the part where it gets a bit dark, and the vocal section following that (the last paragraph). But everything before that (the first four paragraphs) is insanely beautiful.

Hopefully I warm up to the rest of it eventually.

The dark part, while maybe not particularly appealing to us, at least initially, provides a very interesting musical contrast to the rest of the song, though. It follows the group's idea of mixing the beautiful with the twisted, and "Part One" and "Part Three" of this song have their emotional impact intensified by surrounding this dark stretch.

As for the vocal part following it, I absolutely love it. I think the melody and effects are very cool sounding - a little bit psychedelic and slippery.

I think the whole first part stands boldly on it's own. The darker part only hampers that section for me. I've only listened to the song about 8 times or so at the moment though, I'm sure I'll learn to accept it sooner or later.
