Good In Goodbye Lyrics

I heard you laughing
In a crowd outside a restaurant that we used to go to
I caught a glimpse that stopped me in my tracks
It took me back
You looked happy, with that little girl up your shoulders, happy
I know where she got those crystal eyes of blue
Times been sweet to you

As bad as it was
As bad as it hurt
I thank God I didn't get what I thought that I deserved
Sometimes life leads you down a different road
When you're holding on to someone, that you gotta let go
Someday you'll see the reason why
Sometimes, yeah sometimes, there's good in goodbye

I don't regret it
The time we had together, I won't forget it
But we both ended up where we belong
I guess goodbye made us strong
And yeah I'm happy
I found somebody too, who makes me happy
And I knew one day I'd see you on the street
And it'd be bittersweet

As bad as it was
As bad as it hurt
I thank God I didn't get what I thought that I deserved
Sometimes life leads you down a different road
When you're holding on to someone, that you gotta let go
Someday you'll see the reason why
Sometimes, yeah sometimes, there's good in goodbye

Yeahhh
Oooooh

As bad as it was
Yeah, As bad as it hurt
I thank God I didn't get what I thought that I deserved
Sometimes life leads you down a different road
When you're holding on to someone, that you gotta let go
Someday you'll see the reason why
Yeah, someday you'll see the reason why
There's good in goodbye

Yeahhh, there's good in goodbye

Cover art for Good In Goodbye lyrics by Carrie Underwood

So this song is bascially about a girl who realizes that everything happens for a reason. At one time she thought that this boy was everything to her and that the breakup was the end of her. However, seeing that he has moved on and even had a child helps her realize that the breakup was a good thing. She also mentions that although they have both moved on, she doesn't regret the time they had together. Carrie Underwood writes about something that most everyone can relate to. After a breakup, it hurts a ton and we all fear that we will never find someone that we will love that much. It is hard to see any good in this pain and in this fairwell.. However, she begs people to see that they don't have to regret anything between them and that person, they just have to be able to see the good in the dreaded goodbye.
