underneath Lyrics
Strip away the flesh and bone
Look beyond the lies youve known
Everybody wants to talk about a freak
no one wants to dig that deep
let me take you underneath
Baby better watch your step
never mind whats on the left
Youre gonna see things you might not wanna see
its still not that easy for me underneath
a red river of screams
underneath
tears in my eyes
underneath
stars in my black and blue sky
and underneath
under my skin
underneath
the depths of my sin
Look at me
now do you see?
Welcome to my world of truth
I dont wanna hide any part of me from you
Im standing here with no apologies
such a beautiful release, you inside of me
a red river of screams
underneath
tears in my eyes
underneath
stars in my black and blue sky
and underneath
under my skin
underneath
the depths of my sin
Look at me
now do you see?
underneath underneath underneath
underneath underneath
welcome to my world of truth
a red river of screams

This is a song about showing someone the darkest parts of yourself, hoping for acceptance, and trying to make someone understand the parts that you aren't proud, the things you don't want people to see. It's about baring your soul to someone and trusting that they'll understand and that they won't turn away in disgust
I agree with you. i think you got it just right.
I agree with you. i think you got it just right.
I feel that this song opens up a deeper path for people to see a brighter future in life but as well see what is hidden deep within the heart of ones soul. Underneath the tears in my eyes meaning your under so much stress in your life and so much pain in your life that you don't know how others will take the truth about your life if they knew your world of truth. But you will refuse to hide apart of you from them. For a example I wouldn't hide apart of me from no one due to the fact my life has to many secrets that will sooner or later fall out as more than ones of many lies about what others interpret on my life. So if you take away the flesh and the bone you can see that you are looking at the soul deep inside.
I think this song is about acceptance definitely! But even more about showing the true you! The song clearly displays on how a person shows the raw core of himself, All of the secrets, all of the sins, all of the shame, all of the motivations and hidden agenda's. Its about truly understanding one another to the very core, being completely naked and vulnarable which takes the most guts to do. I fail to do this all the time as I push people away, showing the darker ugly side of me without giving them to see the good. Better to be broken than to brake
