Bunny in a Bunny Suit Lyrics
Pretending to be myself again
Acting as if I was who I am
Wearing the clothes that I always wear
Doing the usual thing to my hair
Pretending to be myself again
Imitating the person I've always been
Legally changing my name to my name
And making believe I'm exactly the same
A bunny in a bunny suit
Tiger in a tiger mask
Who in the world do you think that I am?
I suppose that depends on who you ask
Of all the disguises I've ever worn
I flatter myself in the most sincere form
Still I'm kept at a distance by friends
Just pretending to be myself again
A bunny in a bunny suit
Vampire with plastic teeth
Who in the world do I think that I am?
I suppose that depends on who I believe
Acting as if I was who I am
Wearing the clothes that I always wear
Doing the usual thing to my hair
Imitating the person I've always been
Legally changing my name to my name
And making believe I'm exactly the same
Tiger in a tiger mask
Who in the world do you think that I am?
I suppose that depends on who you ask
I flatter myself in the most sincere form
Still I'm kept at a distance by friends
Just pretending to be myself again
Vampire with plastic teeth
Who in the world do I think that I am?
I suppose that depends on who I believe

As someone who suffered from depression, it sounds like it's the first stage of it, when you don't really acknowledge it and just keep pretending everything is the same, while you're becoming a whole different thing on the inside. This song is one of the saddest things I have ever heard.
Sounds sort of like something tragic has happened and she's just trying to get on with life but everybody is telling her she isn't who she was and she should be different now. It's pretty devastating.
This song makes a lot of sense the way it's used in the move "The Pretty One" which features several songs by Simone White. I won't give away the plot here, the movie is great, you should watch it, and you'll see what I mean!
As someone who is autistic, this song is scarily similar to what masking feels like. It’s quickly became my favourite song because I genuinely feel so understood. When you mask, it feels like your wearing a suit of yourself. And you end up mirroring whoever your around, so you ask who I am - it depends on who you ask. It’s such a beautiful song.
