Rope Burn (An Ode To The Ocean) Lyrics
Here it is. My last ode to the ocean before I finally jump in. Hanging off the side of a ship. This rope isn't holy, nor is my deadening grip. As my stomach ties in a thousand knots that were never meant to come undone, I'm pressured to decide what it means to live and what it means to die.
Do I make the same damn climb I've made a thousand times? Or is the fall not all that high, and walking on water worth a try? The waves have helped me come to terms with being a nervous wreck, but even when my ship is out of sight, I swear I won't turn back.
I don't need a search and rescue team. This time only I can save me.
