I'm very mad at the lyric person for this song, so many mistakes! This is my favorite song on the album, not only for the lyrics but the music as well. This song is about when you take a step back from life and realize you lost yourself and who you are on the path you are taking. It's about resetting your life and putting it back on track.

"and faded" instead of "invaded"
"Covering" instead of "Covered in"
"Silent Sorrows" instead of "Silence sorrows"
"Is yesterday still a friend?" instead of "yesterday is still a friend"
I think that this is kind of asking if you hid your true personality and feelings away and are just a shell of your former self. And if its so the world doesn't know your true self like this other person really knows you.
That's just what I think, I could be wrong.
I always thought that this song was about a guy who sees his ex.
She has descended into a life of drugs, and she's a ghost of what she once was. She has withdrawn from all of her friends and family because of her addiction, and she has hidden away in the shadowy world of abuse. The world will never know her, because the drugs have taken such a toll on her that she will never be that vibrant person he once knew.
