Cult Lyrics

They say believeing is what we see
Though faith we sell
You want reward beyond where you lay
Look where we tell
Have you been searching for an answer
To what you hide?
Well keep your soul and your devotion
In us confide

Purify your eyes
For you beg to be ever god's size
We can end your cries
All we ask is that you join our cult
We are the friend you can trust in now
We are your grace
Nobody else will dare question us
This power saves
You haven't seen beyond the real world
We'll take you there
But not before we hear you confess
And say our prayers

Purify your eyes
For you beg to be ever god's size
We can end your cries
All we ask is that you join our cult

We can deliver you
Four winds come into view
Breathe deep of our beliefs
The cult knows you'll never leave

Purify your eyes
For you beg to be ever god's size
We can end your cries
All we ask is that you join our cult

No offense to anyone, but I take this song to be about Christianity.

"They say believing is what we see though faith we sell You want reward beyond where you lay? Look where we tell"

They are saying that it is funny how people use the term "I'll believe it when I see it", though many are dead set on the idea of a God who has never showed himself existing. The people who worship this "God" believe that they will live in an eternal life of bliss after they leave this earthly realm. Thats the main jist of the first verse from what I gather, and the first 4 lines say it all.

" We are the friend you can trust in now We are your grace Nobody else will dare question us This power saves You haven't seen beyond the real world We'll take you there But not before we hear you confess And say our prayers"

The first 4 lines of this states how many Christian religions believe that their way is right, and anyone who believes differently is sadly mistaken. The second part is essentially saying "You will go to heaven, but you must confess all your wrong doings and pray to the same God as we do and worship him, or you will go to an undesirable place."

That is ultimately what that verse is saying. It's a mockery.

"We can deliver you Four winds come into view Breathe deep of our beliefs The cult knows you'll never leave"

This is saying that a church and it's memebers can assure you are free of sin, but you must kiss their asses in order for that to happen. Fall into their beliefs, practice their prayers, they praise, their chiors, and you will be sent to heaven. They know that any gullible human being will subscribe to this and live in fear of ever leaving their beliefs, believing that if they don't, they will they will burn for eternity.

This theory of this song' meaning is kind of confirmed by the next song, "Eternal Empire".
