This song is disturbing (at least to me). S/he's singing to children that it may be the last time they're together. To attempt to put a positive spin on the song, maybe s/he's saying that they should treat each day as if it were their last, which means they should want to live it well and pay homage to their Father. Lord, I do hope this song was written with some purpose such as the soundtrack for a movie; it is dark.
