The lyrics to my ear depict the overwhelmingly heavy air of an impending storm in his heart, but that he anticipates the lightness of mind that will come afterwards; i.e. the release of a good cry. I can't help but feel there's some kind of exorcism of demonic memories here.

i think its just about "rough times". and everything with it. maybe in the title, the rain is almost "rock bottom", so it is at the point of the worst possible times.
