Enjoy the Ride

This is the greatest song I have ever heard. The first time I listened to it, I replayed it over and over for about 2 hours. The song is very philosophical to me. I think it is all about realizing that you need to find your personal truth and live an authentic life to be Content.

"The stones your are walking on are gone" means that the ideas you have about what in important in life are often wrong. As you grow as a person you realize that other well meaning people have tried to put you in a box and convince you to: "shut the gates at sunset" and not question the big picture they have draw for you.

"The day that you stop running is the day that you arrive." Means that you are running from yourself. If you just stop and look within yourself, you will find your personal truth. When you do, you can stop chasing the shadows that have motivated you up to this point and find the peace and contentment within yourself that will allow you to enjoy the ride of life if you just give yourself permission to do so.

I am a big Joseph Campbell fan and this all ties in with his concept of finding your bliss.

To me, this song is about the balance between loving yourself and letting other people in.\n\nAt first it is about being locked in the garden. You get to decide whether you stop chasing shadows. If you manage to stop chasing people, things, jobs or whatever it is that you are chasing, you stop running. You turn inward, so you can find out what you are all about and you can see your bigger picture. This is a very difficult thing to do, because the road is long and the stones that you are walking on are gone. But if you\'re still able to find out your bigger picture, if you see what it actually is that you are all about, then you can enjoy the ride. \n\nBut life is about more than just you. If you\'re locked in, you miss out on the garden full of angels. If you close the door to your heart and don’t let other people in, then your life is empty. You\'ll remain in a room full of nothing. It is important to open your house and heart, so you can catch the wind and the moonlight guiding you to the joy of being alive.\n\nThis is a beautiful song and it helps me overcoming a major heartbreak.
