Please Release Me (Let Me Go) Lyrics
Please, release me, let me go,
For I don't love you anymore.
To waste our lives would be a sin,
Release me and let me love again.
I have found a new love, dear,
And I will always want her near.
Her lips are warm while yours are cold
Release me, my darling, let me go.
(Please release me, let me go)
For I don't love you anymore.
(To waste our lives would be a sin)
So release me and let me love again.
Please release me, can't you see?
You'd be a fool to cling to me.
To live our lives would bring us pain
So release me and let me love again.
(Let me go, let me go)
For I don't love you anymore.
To waste our lives would be a sin,
Release me and let me love again.
And I will always want her near.
Her lips are warm while yours are cold
Release me, my darling, let me go.
For I don't love you anymore.
(To waste our lives would be a sin)
So release me and let me love again.
You'd be a fool to cling to me.
To live our lives would bring us pain
So release me and let me love again.

This song about a relationship that has simply faded and no feelings left . They long to to be where their heart really is.
This song came to mind a few nights ago for some odd reason. One might say that the meaning of this song's lyrics is pretty obvious. (I was actually thinking of the Elvis version).
This is the song of a person who's in a committed relationship (such as marriage) that's having an affair and politely asking for a divorce. Or... Maybe it's someone who simply wants to be free to love, instead of being obligated to love in a particular way. Interesting...
