Stranded 72.5 Lyrics
I've hit the earth a hundred times
And still I haven't found the right to live with myself and do it without fright
We live the moment out all day
We touch the vibe and give it space
But still we dance in abstract loss of grace
And if you believe in something
Even if your feeling nothing
Everyone of us are trying so hard to get by
And everyone of us are stranded 72.5
And I look into your eyes for one last time
And I look into your eyes because your mine
Your ghostly dress your pirouettes
Your face like pearl all luminous
The number on your wrist a 666
As tower's bend and stars burn out
And churches fall without a doubt
I need you here beside me paramount
And if you can believe in something
Even if you're feeling nothing
And everyone of us are trying so hard to get by
And everyone of us are stranded 72.5
And I look into your eyes before I die
And I look into your eyes because your mine
Because your mine...
And still I haven't found the right to live with myself and do it without fright
We live the moment out all day
We touch the vibe and give it space
But still we dance in abstract loss of grace
And if you believe in something
Even if your feeling nothing
Everyone of us are trying so hard to get by
And everyone of us are stranded 72.5
And I look into your eyes for one last time
And I look into your eyes because your mine
Your ghostly dress your pirouettes
Your face like pearl all luminous
The number on your wrist a 666
As tower's bend and stars burn out
And churches fall without a doubt
I need you here beside me paramount
And if you can believe in something
Even if you're feeling nothing
And everyone of us are trying so hard to get by
And everyone of us are stranded 72.5
And I look into your eyes before I die
And I look into your eyes because your mine
Because your mine...

I think this is depicting the Christ and Satan archetypes, as they're the western adaptation of Yin and Yang. Here they're depicted as soul mates and lovers. The first half of the song is from Satan's point of view. Satan has been reincarnated on the Earth at least 100 times but fails to escape the cycles of karma because fear interferes with righteous living. Fear of what isn't specified and for good reason because it's meant to be a metaphor for anyone who doesn't face their own fears. I think the stanza that everyone of us is trying so hard to get by is meant to apply the metaphor of Satan to every person prior to enlightenment. The second half of the song is from the perspective of the Christ archetype, the enlightened person who has faced their fears, conquered them, found success, and understands the nature of causality. The Christ archetype loves the Satan archetype, saying that Satan's face like pearls all luminous contains great beauty. The lyric the number on your wrist a 666 makes it clear we're seeing from the Christ archetype's perspective and he's seeing Satan who has a 666 mark because Satan is forever falling just short of enlightenment (7 is the number representing perfection, completeness, enlightenment as there's 7 days in a week, 7 levels of heaven, etc.). Towers bending and stars burning out while churches fall without a doubt represent the Christ archetype's death and escape from the cycles of karma. Towers bending and stars burning out are a description for the imagery of the space time continuum being warped after death to the end of time where nirvana awaits. Churches falling without doubt represent that religion doesn't help achieve enlightenment, rather interferes and serves to keep people trapped. Finally the Christ archetype proclaims that they need the Satan archetype at their side, a reference to the balance of the two dual forces of nature, yin and yang, that serve to self-perpetuate the cycles of karma. The line Stranded 72.5 is a reference to the average lifespan at the time of writing, and means that for every lifetime we are reincarnated we're stranded in a physical form on earth for approximately 72.5 years, and we have 72.5 years to try to break free of humanity's worst inclinations and tendencies.
Obviously this song is a metaphor and not to be taken literally. It's central theme is that one should work to attain self-enlightenment and understand causality and the forces that govern the universe (laws of physics, sociological and psychological phenomena) and the ultimate goal is to achieve self-acceptance and happiness for your 72.5 years instead of just trying to get by until death is upon you and you realize the false promises of afterlife by various religions are nothing but a fairy tale.
