I love this song, I think anyone can relate to it, who ever carried a torch for someone to nowhere.
Find myself wholeheartedly agreeing with you Delia. The song is obviously an ode to somebody that was special to the singer.
You’re right about the “carrying a torch” part. It’s a classic example of unrequited & unreturned love. The lead singer loved someone a whole lot who sadly didn’t care or returned his affections in the least.
The whole song basically describes how she left him hanging in all that time & just plain forgot he even existed. That’s my take on it anyway.
