I used to have the DVD that this video is on and in the special features mjk says this song is about addiction, weather it's to drugs, alcohol or even someone. It's about how you become powerless and obsessed with the object of your desire.

Album: Thirteenth Step, 12 tracks, this is track 2. The album is about 12 step programs and the 1st track, The Package, is definitely about going to a 12 step program. Addmitting you're an addict and that you are powerless over your addiction. Well, you aren't powerless. Yes, you need help and support, but the desire and all the leg work will have to come from the addict. 12 step itself is really bullshit, for the most part. I mean, addiction is terrible and drug addiction specifically is bad and should be avoided, but 12 step is fake and it's just another addiction.

Step 2 (specifically): ACCEPTING, not choosing, accepting that there is a God or higher power (more inclusive) and calls for "giving it all to god", that this faith is the ONLY WAY TO SANITY. You're not an addict in the literal and medical sense, the factual and widely researched, well understood reality these narcotics arephysically and psychologically addictive is never discussed during the actual meeting, you are insane. They have all the sanity and it's not only accepting the irrefusabel command to have faith in a silent and invisible being but that this being, of your choosing, whoever, whatever, its arbitrary, is the only, ONLY way you can cure that sanity and live clean and sober. Statistical research regularly and clearly indicates that 12 step or cold turkey, about 15% of addicts quit (or exchange addictions) via 12 step and about 15% quit via cold turkey. Less addicts go through non-religious non-step groups but their success percentage size is much higher and they actually treat your underlying addictions via therapy or non-narcotic medications as well as a stress free, work at your own pace environment.

To me, this one is about realizing the program is bull shit. It is week and powerless. He has no faith in it. It is the imaginary higher power.
