There There (The Boney King of Nowhere)

I always thought it might be about a ghost or skeleton (boney king of nowhere) walking through the forest. Green (covered in moss) and lonely. Could be the idea of interacting with others or the supernatural and knowing there is no certainty about it.

Broken branches in your landscape trip me as I speak could be refering to the inherent differences in each person's landscape (or the supernatural realm) and not being able to find common ground. Broken branches are like broken connections while walking in another person's "landscape".

The boney king of nowhere has no landscape and an inability to understand it because it's pitch dark.

Reaching out could be looking for feedback in this landscape but enivitably failing to have proof of anything.

Siren sailing to shipwreck could be feeling like you have found something certain but it's not.

This could be a state of being type song or describing the persistent nature of a person's life. Most people experience this once in a while. The whole situation makes you feel like your in the dark and lifeless.

The someone on your shoulder could be consciously and rationally thinking about right and wrong.

Reaching out could be trying to make a connection.

Don't reach out. You know what will happened kind of thing.

Heaven sent you to me could be literal or figurative describing thinking you've found someone or something which you know for sure.

We are accidents waiting to happen could be making a huge mistake on that assumption or simply saying in general what happens when people go out on a limb like this and experience broken branches.

Although the way it is sung suggest something a little more sinister. However Thom sounds a lot like that in this album.
