The song seems sad, but it kinda lifts you up because you listening to someone who's gone thru what you went thru.
I cannot believe barely anyone has commented on this song. It's a classic! I'm not really going through a break-up or anything. Their is just this guy that doesn't even know i exist and he likes someone else, but this song is wonderful. especially if you're having relationship problems. Listening to this song made me cry, but that's just what i needed.

You don't need to feel the same way he does because the lyrics and Ruffin's voice just takes you away.

It's 'the roots of love grow all around', not 'the fruits of love'. And it's 'all is lost' instead of 'oh, he is lost'
