Fix what’s wrong, but don’t rewrite what the artist wrote. Stick to the official released version — album booklet, label site, verified lyric video, etc. If you’re guessing, pause and double-check.

Respect the structure

Songs have rhythm. Pages do too. Leave line breaks where they belong. Don’t smash things together or add extra empty space just for looks.

Punctuation counts (but vibe-editing doesn’t)

Correct typos? Yes. Re-punctuating a whole verse because it ‘looks better’? Probably not. Keep capitalization and punctuation close to the official source.

Edit lightly

If two lines are wrong… fix the two lines. No need to bulldoze the whole page. Think ‘surgical,’ not ‘remix.’

The last song on the last Dream Academy album. it ends with the sound of a carnival organ playing and fading out.

There is a time where every band ends, and members go on to other things. Sometimes, they find a way to say goodbye, and I think that here, DA wanted to say goodbye to each other and their fans and to say thanks for coming along on 'the ride'.

"The music's ending." A sad, but classy way of saying farewell.

I completely agree, some 14 years later with ctlizyrd's above interpretation on the message within the lyrics of Not For Second Prize. One last genius stroke of the pen and the strings from Dream Academy, and Nick Laird Clowes. Most love affairs have a beginning and an end, whether all parties involved want it ot not. Such is the case with our love affair with the D.A. - and without knowing exactly how to say goodbye, i think this melody did the deed quite brilliantly, and in N.L.C's typical mysterious, melodic and cryptic way. I'm ever sad that the ride is over. I'm forever grateful for the memories.
