Damn, Sam (I Love a Woman That Rains) Lyrics
As a man I ain't never been much for sunny days
I'm as calm as a fruit stand in New York and maybe as strange
But when the colors go out of my eyes its usually the change
But damn, Sam I love a woman that rains
Clear as a bell and sound as an old engineer
Clear as a bell and sound as an old engineer
With talented breezes that blow off your hat with a sneer
As a man I've never been much for talking to
I'm as open as the door in her house that leads to her room
And when the color goes out of my eyes she's usually too
But damn, Sam I love a woman that's blue
As a man I ain't never been much for sunny days
I'm as calm as a fruit stand in New York and maybe as strange
But when the colors go out of my eyes its usually the change
But damn, Sam I love a woman that rains
I'm as calm as a fruit stand in New York and maybe as strange
But when the colors go out of my eyes its usually the change
But damn, Sam I love a woman that rains
Clear as a bell and sound as an old engineer
With talented breezes that blow off your hat with a sneer
I'm as open as the door in her house that leads to her room
And when the color goes out of my eyes she's usually too
But damn, Sam I love a woman that's blue

I love this song, I believe it is whatever you make it... that is why it is beautiful... because only you can understand it
wow. any boy that agrees with this song needs to date me. being happy all the time is so...contrived
Happiness at a constant is dull. Ryan Adams knows everything about everything. :]
I love this song... actually, i think this song is about my ex-girlfriend.
i love this song, very true to myself, and very self explainatory
Fruit stands in New York ARE strange. How do they keep their cherries so fresh in all that polluted air? And also, nothing beats a woman that rains. They are lovable.
I first heard this song, when I was in love with a woman named Sam. She always rained. It was gorgeous, and placed my entire relationship in perspective. We aren't together anymore. She rained so much, that it flooded.
I first heard this song from a sort of project/challenge I posed at a forums. Right now I don\'t particularly like the name \"Sam\" because it makes me think of a particular girl that I absolutely despise. This girl rains on her boyfriend (one of my best friends) just about all the time, when there\'s not a drought, and it pisses me off. But he takes it from her, so I can\'t say anything.
im still confused on what he means by a girl that rains...like is it cuz shes crying? will someone explain this please.
Whoa! I wouldnt say ryan adams knows everything about everything, dont think he would either. thats what he's trying to tell us in every sad song! lol, a woman that rains? either way you get the idea, whether shes crying or sad or something, its gotta be bad right? the feeling you get from a symbol like that seems most important. and flickerchick27, of course happiness slightly contrived, very little in life just comes, you gotta find it
