The song is a cautionary tale that urges you to resist the allure of temptation and avoid falling into devilish plans. The pastor represents making a deal with the devil, who is disgusted as someone you think you could trust, a man of god and righteous beliefs, an action that should be avoided at all costs. Evil exists everywhere, and more often than not it's hidden under a mask of trust to lure you in and entrap you.
