Say You're Wrong Lyrics
You say you love me, but I think you're wrong
We've had times in the past when we weren't so strong
Well, I don't know which way to turn
And I don't know which way to turn
The times have changed, I can read your face
There's been so many lies and no tears with your cries
Well, I don't know which way to turn
And I don't know which way to turn
I've been ashamed for so many years
I don't know how to cope when you bring out the tears
And I don't know which way to turn
'Cause I don't know which end to burn
I love you more than a man could say
We've been through a lot, gone our separate ways
Well, I don't know which way to turn
And I don't know which way to turn
I said I love you, well, I do
I don't know whether I'm wrong or whether I'm right
Or which way to turn
And I don't know which way to turn
We've had times in the past when we weren't so strong
Well, I don't know which way to turn
And I don't know which way to turn
There's been so many lies and no tears with your cries
Well, I don't know which way to turn
And I don't know which way to turn
I don't know how to cope when you bring out the tears
And I don't know which way to turn
'Cause I don't know which end to burn
We've been through a lot, gone our separate ways
Well, I don't know which way to turn
And I don't know which way to turn
I don't know whether I'm wrong or whether I'm right
Or which way to turn
And I don't know which way to turn

The song has a nice groove, probably amongst the best 3 or 4 in the 'Valotte' album. The joyful and optimistic feel of the music contrasts with the groomy and frustrated character of the lyrics, which otherwise are extremely simplistic and now very thought provoking. It is curious tho' the title of the song never gets quoted in the lyrics.
By the way I just watched the video for the first time today (and I've submitted it to songmeanings.com as well as the lyrics) but it is so simple and lakcing of any imagination or creativity it deserves no further comment at all.
Probably Julian Lennon deserved more success that he did but I find his debut album being too relying on the production and lacking real emotional strength in the songs, many times conveying apathy more than any other feeling.
It is otherwise admirable the musical maturity and lyrical self assurance for a debut album of a 24 year old boy. His musical backroung sure helped but I feel the man had a talent of his own. 'Valotte' is a piece of art on its own. I never heard sucha an elegant and mature pop song.
