Me Vs. You Lyrics

I just came to get my things
I'm not drunk or anything
I saw a light on in your house
Undo the chain and let me in, I want to talk

I never wanted this disease
I never wanted you to leave, hey
I never wanted this disease
I never wanted you, I never wanted you to leave

It used to give me guilty thrills
Feeling in control and feeding on your innocence
I watched you torture yourself days
And fucking you got boring when it didn't feel so wrong

I never wanted this disease
I never wanted you to leave, hey
I never wanted this disease
I never wanted you, I never wanted you to leave

I can see you in my dreams
I can see you in my dreams
I can see you in my dreams
I can see you in my dreams

Let the grass grow over me
Let the grass grow over me
Let the grass grow over me
Let the grass grow over me

You watch the grass grow over me
You watch the grass grow over me
You watch the grass grow over me
You watch the grass grow over me

(I can see you in my dreams)
I never wanted this disease
(I can see you in my dreams)
I never wanted you except when you were on your knees
(I can see you in my dreams)
I never wanted this disease
(I can see you in my dreams)
I never, I never, I never wanted you to leave

The greatest song on Therapy?'s greatest album.

I think this song's about a man who's something of a sexual predator, and starts sleeping with an innocent, inexperienced girl. However, as she becomes more like him, he loses interest, and then he gets AIDS, which he passes on to her. This puts everything in perspective for him.

I do not think, like infotainment_lad, that he gets an actual disease like AIDS. I figured that the song was about a guy who used a girl for his own pleasure(s), not really caring about her. In the end she does leave him and he discovers that he has feelings for her, which in my opinion would be the disease (love). Only the girl is totally over him, and won't accept him back. Musically this is one of the most beautiful ballads of T?

I think that Shedfire is right - also, I think that the guy becomes a stoner once he breaks up with the girl, but the girl he used and abused gets on with her life "Watch the grass grow over me". The disease then might be cannabis psychosis.

I f**king love this song

it's got nothing to do with aids and stuff. it's just how love hurts, it's just how wounded ego hurts, it's just how you can't stop drinking when you break up with a girl, it's a terrific break-up song, and although Andy was stuck on heroin while recording Infernal love and even though you can actually hear that (like in a 5 minutes interludes and shit) i think it's a great pop record and one of their tops
