Lookaway (feat. Jonathan Davis, Mike Patton & DJ Lethal) Lyrics

Each time I pull it apart
I get disgusted, can't do it today
What makes it so good
That a man would kill for it
Lie just to lick a bit
Each time I pull it apart
I get disgusted, can't do it today
What makes it so good
To lie just to lick
Fake it, you like it, just take me away.
(hold it?), just save it and I'll be repaid
Each time I pull it apart
I get disgusted, can't do it today
What makes it so good
That a man would kill for it
To lie just to lick a bit
Each time I pull it apart
I get disgusted, can't do it today
What makes it so good
To lie, to lick
Take it, enlarge it, became it, before
Like it, I like it, and I'll be (can't tell)
Fake it, then like it, just take it tonight.
Take it
I look at you, (then) you look at me, (then) you look away [Repeat: x14]

I don't think your angle on the pusy eating is wrong, but I think it should be said that this song has some much deeper meanings.

I think the artist is exploring the nature of a man, or more accurately someone who is a kind of predator. The "each time i pull it apart, i get disgusted" could be the feeling of self-disgust that the person feels. I don't think that the person who is 'saying' these things is a predator themself - but they are addressing the part of themselves, asking it "what makes it so good to lie, just to lick a bit". The way he enjoys sex disturbs him and disgusts him.

I think that this is also echoed in the lyrics "take it, enlarge it, become it" which has an obvious meaning, but also he 'becomes' this sexual drive that is being seen as a monster in his own head/being.

Finally, the point of the song, in my opinion, is that the reason for all of this is a sick relationship. they've had sex, but they cant look at eachother. I think that the way (is it John Davis?) sings 'you look at me but you look away' is meant to sound sad.. almost as though he's looking for aproval from his partner but does not get it, and then the next time they do it, he feels disgusted again.

It voices the silent pain of having sex when there isn't any 'true love'.

I think it's about some guy is digusted everytime he is about to eat his girls' pussy (..pull it apart../..lick a bit..) I might be wrong

@basm85 could be ... doesn't really fit the theme of their Roots album though, although does fit Jonathan Davis' lyrical style and themes.

I listen to the song whenever I get disgusted at what everybody does just to hit some tail. Sex is fantastic but for some people, they will do anything to get it regardless of what it takes and who gets hurt. A lot of Sepultura's songs are about raw emotions, i.e. pain and hate, etc.

We let the pussy change us, we let it destroy our morals, and it can dominate our lives. We take it and enlarge it and it becomes our God.

Look at the whole first stanza. We lie for it, we kill for it... Maybe he digs the pussy too but when he thinks about all the stupid crap these chicks do to get laid and the stupid stuff men do for it, he gets disgusted and just loses the mood for it. Can't do it today.

Maybe the last part means some fake folk can't look the real folk in the eye because that lie is easily seen. Or maybe the chick that double crossed you and screwed your friend can't look you in the eye anymore or the friend who banged your woman can't look you in the eye either. Not sure, haha.

I could be way off base about it all but it's just my two cents.

Song Meaning

This song is off of Roots, I don't know why the lyrics weren't on here before, great song. Features Jon Davis from KoRn, back in the day when he had a good voice.

@Muzzy Jonathan Davis has never had a good voice, and apparently you've never had good hearing. Seriously man, you should talk to a doctor about this. Even by metal vocalist standards his voice is terrible and has always been terrible..If you really think he sounds like he has a good voice here you need to visit an audiologist ASAP. There's a whole world of sound out there that you are missing.

I think this song is about relationships, and that kinda has to do with the pussy eating.

They "do it", and he thinks it feels good, but he knows she doesn't feel the same way ("fakes it") and it makes him sick that he enjoys something that's awful to both of them. He doesn't think he can do it anymore.

When they are done, they look at eachother, and lookaway, because both aren't really into eachother and are disgusted at what they do (could be love, or in fact pussy eating)
