Goin' Down the Road Feeling Bad Lyrics
Going down the road feeling bad
Going down the road feeling bad
Going down the road feeling bad, hey hey hey, yeah
Don't wanna be treated this a way
Going where the climate suits my clothes
I'm going where the climate suits my clothes
Going where the climate suits my clothes
Don't wanna be treated this a way
Going where the water tastes like wine
Well I'm going where the water tastes like wine
Going where the water tastes like wine
I don't wanna be treated this a way
Going down the road feeling bad
Going down the road feeling bad, hey hey hey, yeah
Don't wanna be treated this a way
I'm going where the climate suits my clothes
Going where the climate suits my clothes
Don't wanna be treated this a way
Well I'm going where the water tastes like wine
Going where the water tastes like wine
I don't wanna be treated this a way

Some times I go down a road feeling bad.
And I hate being cold.
I like this song, its got that old-school blues feel but a slap-happy vibe contrasts the lyrics of yearning to leave a town behind. It's nice and mellow, and real good on Live at the Fillmore East, April 1971
going down the road can have several meanings to it. either abstract or concrete. He can mean going down the road feeling bad because of drugs or another reason. But if you look at it from a more abstract point of view then you can be going down the road(life) feeling bad about a certain situation or elongated problem. One of the great things about grateful deads music is that it can relate to anybody and you can use your imagination to their music.
I know Woody Guthrie did this song but I'm not sure if he was the originator or not.
